the track i did it was to put my xp disk surrounded by to install on pc i consequently opted to install onto external concrete drive . this it goes to do it asked me did i want to format my disk i did this and done it into NFTS files . any item that you have on the external knotty drive must be saved if you want to hold them . you can also put partions on it if you wish to
There are several ways.



If you use Linux, you can other use fdisk to manage the drive -



fdisk /dev/sda1



should bring up the details for that drive, provided it's attached to your computer. You can afterwards format it, choosing NTFS/HPFS from the menu.



That will do it. If you're not a Linux user though, you can use Partition Magic to format it. Again, attach it to your computer, and run PTM. Select the drive from the screen, choose Format, and consequently just select NTFS. I've done it both ways myself, though not beside an Iomega device.



Best of luck. It may not be the easiest thing within the world, but it is doable.
I'm not sure if it can be "converted" from FAT32 to NTFS without 3rd event software, but you can reformat it as NTFS.



To do that, go to Computer Management (control panel > admin tools) and select Disk Management. From at hand, you can get the fomat option.
Partition Magic is what to use.

Connecting my PC to my HDTV?

I hold a PC that I've built that I want to dedicate to running any MythTV or Windows Media Center. Either one doesn't matter to me. What does situation is that I've dropped some nice money building this machine, but it turns out the highest-bandwidth input my small screen offers is in recent times component. There is s-video, but its crappy beyond anything.



I'm looking for a solution that won't cost me the $150 from audio authority -- they sell a converter that'll convert VGA or DVI to component. If I involve to buy a new video card, so be it, but I want to spend as little as I can.



The video card within the system is an oldie. Its a 64 MB GeForce MX 440. I used it in my desktop for movie editing, it worked really all right. Media playback isn't _*that* taxing, but in lay down to scale it to 1080i, it should be. Any suggestions as to how I can spend smaller quantity than 80 dollars to get a glorious definition (480p or greater) input into my television?

Does your HDTV enjoy a DVI input? That's really the way to turn.



My old setup I have a video converter that converted VGA to component, but it's nowhere near as nice as what I hold now.



Now I own a budget NVidia card, which has a DVI out to my HDTV, and it works much, much better. It's the cleanest photo I've seen from a PC to a HDTV.

I basically got a unsullied video card i want to put into my computer. I'm a bit concerned since this card requires a direct connection to my computer's power supply component.



Do I just find any spare 4-pin Molex nouns thats hanging sour my PSU? What if I dont see any extra/spare 4-pin connectors coming out of my PSU?



Also is it really neccessary to go out and buy one of those anti-static wrist straps? Or can I basically periodically ground myself by touch the metal case of the PSU?

Just installed a Nvidia 6800 OC within brother in law and that also required a direct connect to the PSU. Came with "y" splitter to use. Have be workin on my own computers for a couple years now and never wear a strap, and hold never had a problem. ALWAYS formulate sure you groung yourself out on the case previously you begin workin on it and for polite measure I other try to keep contained by contact with the defence. Honestly, they will all work. But the ATI catalyst drivers are the up-to-the-minute version.

Since the wonder drivers are really bad, frequently the extra buttons lose his setup. I hold opted for discard the wonder drivers and use the windows drivers. But they hold fixed configuration for extra buttons.

Just swap the "boot first" order of respectively hard drive within the BIOS.

Most newer PCs will allow you to eaisly access a Boot Menu by pressing the "esc" key at power up.

I dunno what INR data to in dollars, but some suggestions:

2gb of run into minimum

Intel Core2 Duo processor

something that doesn't have built contained by graphics, try to get a 7600/7900 series Nvidia or 1600/1900 series ATI card

SATA 7200 rpm tricky drives only, PATA is too close to done to buy a computer beside parallel ATA drives

those are probably the biggest issues you need to be concerned near, if you can't afford a Core2 system I'd go near a socket AM2 AMD X2 (if it doesnt tell you the socket, DDR2 computers are adjectives AM2, regular DDR is the older 939 which you dont want)

It depends on how much power the fan take.



If they're powerful, you'll involve to conncet them to the Powersupply, and see if they've got a control front. If not, you'll not be able to control the speed.



If they're not powerful, MoBo will be ok.
A second power supply would manufacture it louder, takes up space and much more electricity. I seriously doubt you'll stipulation more than 5 fans though yes the ammount of fan was most predictable calculated when the mobo was made.
if the admirer is big it should go to the powersupply but if it small connnect it to the motherboard
