Cd playback problem?

Just not long, when I play CD's, they are very slow and choppy and click alot. I figure my drive was any really dirty, or just older or going out. I ended up a short time ago buying a brand new one and it still does like thing. It's not the Cd's or the lens one dirty, either. Everything else works great. I can play audio medium files, The turntable works through the line-in just fine, and I can rip CD's and the wav files play hindmost great. I even re-installed the driver, that didnt work. And its not the buffer or error correction either. So, my interrogate is could it be the sound card, or wouildnt everything else not work any? If not the sound card, what else could be the problem??

Cd playback problem?

are you sure they are not the cds?

the one and only other thing I can mull over of (other then the cd rom you replaced, and the drivers that you repaired and reinstalled...) is that perchance your system resorces are too low and the skipping you describe is really just your computer freezing momenttairaly?

sorry, and i hope it works out for you,.. suitable luck
