the track i did it was to put my xp disk surrounded by to install on pc i consequently opted to install onto external concrete drive . this it goes to do it asked me did i want to format my disk i did this and done it into NFTS files . any item that you have on the external knotty drive must be saved if you want to hold them . you can also put partions on it if you wish to
There are several ways.

I hold a PC that I've built that I want to dedicate to running any MythTV or Windows Media Center. Either one doesn't matter to me. What does situation is that I've dropped some nice money building this machine, but it turns out the highest-bandwidth input my small screen offers is in recent times component. There is s-video, but its crappy beyond anything.
I'm looking for a solution that won't cost me the $150 from audio authority -- they sell a converter that'll convert VGA or DVI to component. If I involve to buy a new video card, so be it, but I want to spend as little as I can.

Computer will NOT authorize Memory(RAM)?
I hold a P4P800S-X motherboard and a Pentium 4 CPU (2.4 Ghz 2400Mhz and 533 FSB). I have be using a Sumsung 512 RAM (PC3200 DDR400) and recently I granted to add another one that is to say identical. However, the computer would not make out it. In the BIOS set up I can see that I have 1024MB but when I check on My Compter properties I singular see 504MB and no improvement within speed. I have checked both the sticks of RAM and the slots on the motherboard individually and they are worthy. I have used a PC2700 DDR 333 1GB stick (the motherboard businesswoman recommends PC2700 DDR 333 for 533 FSB) and I still see 504MB simply! I have updated the BIOS and still no pious news.
Any comfort or tips will be welcome. Thanks.

Computer w/ RAID 0 slipshod... installing on topical computer?
I have a computer with an Asus A7N8X Deluxe motherboard, and have two SATA drives (Silicon Image SATA Controller) in a RAID 0 configuration. OS be on a normal IDE drive. The mobo crashed, bought a current ASRock 775Dual-VSTA. How can I get my RAID 0 pay for? I'm worried the VIA RAID utility might erase all the background. Is there any means of access (knoppix, maybe?) to run in and verbs off the notes I need first, and afterwards create a new RAID 0 array? I'm a newbie when it comes to dealing beside RAID, so I thought I would reach out to an expert!

I would recommend changing the RAID to 1 which mirrors respectively drive, or even RAID 5 but you would need another concrete drive (requires 3 or more). But with both configurations the Hard Drive size must be like. Just do a search on RAID Configurations and you will acquire everything you will need.

I am purchasing a spanking new computer (actually a barebones) and would like to hold on to my hardrives i use now for it.
I know they are both IDE but i am not sure if they will be compatible near this new Motherboard.
The Motherboard say that supports 4 IDE devices and then i go on to say that it supports these hardrive types :
UDMA/33

UDMA/100
UDMA/133
I enjoy never heard of those earlier... If a motherboard says explicitly supports IDE does that mean adjectives IDE devices?
My hardrives are older but I they are 160Gb and a 75Gb and i do not want to enjoy to buy new ones.
Basically what i am asking is how can i find out if my hardrives are compatible and/or are they compatible?

Hello, im asking for some relieve we upgrade our computer sis agp(motherbrd) memory 256mb ram harddrive 80 see, it works without any prob. but only just i ask tech to attach video card 60mb well, the problem start when i play the games it is completely shutsdown minus any warning.What would be the its problem? we changed already the video card again but the probelm stays!

Our stupid Dell wouldn't play video, only froze up and when you ctl-alt-del and bring up the task negotiator (which then took forever) it would voice cpu usage 100% and we would have to do a tough shutdown.

Ok I bought my Dell ending September and I ordered 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers. They sent me a wrong speaker, it was supposed to be front, instead it be rear. But specifically not my problem. Recently, I would be listening to music and it would fade out. You would be audible range the song normally and after it would get "pushed out" and you could hear it, but it be very low surrounded by volume. I also cannot hear Internet Video, I can hear the bass, but I cannot her the video clearly.

I just now built a computer and installed XP Pro. I tried installing the drivers for the ethernet ports and they installed alright, but I rebooted the computer and no LAN connection be detected and no ethernet cards were any. I decided to do a verbs install of XP Pro, so I did, but when I erased the original wall on the hard drive, I be unable to format the strong disk afterwards and got some blue eyeshade error saying something similar to "hard disk failure"... I plan on buying a new concrete drive, but am still worried about the ethernet card broken like final time. BIOS detects the dvd burner, the dead not easy drive, processor, RAM and video card worked alright as well when XP did work.

Computer Keyboard not competent to type correctly?
I'm have problems with my upright for my personal computer. It was working fine a moment ago a week ago and then adjectives of a sudden some of the letters and symbol key as well as my space railing stopped working. I tried to restart the computer and it still continued to give me problems. Are my settings wrong? could this be a possible virus on my workstation? or do I just want to get a fresh keyboard? please help out me out.

i've be trying to play a few computer games online, and many of them work by using key such as the spacebar and up/down/left/right arrow keys. whenever i try to use the arrow key, it doesn't work for the game, it individual lets the page scroll up or down. i'm not sure how to fix this, since i'm using a laptop instead of a desktop...is in that some sort of key/lock that i have to press or see to let the arrow key work in the spectator sport, and not just for scrolling?

OK. I just now purchased a new MB, a PCI-E graphics card, up to date processor, and new RAM for an upgrade. I wasn't have any problems with my previous computer until that time, so the HDD are good. Now, at all over the place moments, my PC freezes. Typically when I play WoW, but it has frozen on IE and elsewhere. I hold to reset, but I get no errors, no compliants from Windows, nought. The only piece slightly warm is the graphics card itself. Northbridge is cool, and CPU & RAM are not going above 100. Drivers and CMOS is up to date. Any thinking?

Check to make sure the voltage setting on the power supply is correct, 115 volts, engineer sure all the power supply connections are seated correctly, check memory to see if it's seated properly, also check the cpu to be sure specifically seated correctly too, check the fan connectors for cpu, covering, etc.

OK i own a 20 pin PS and i have a 24 PIN Mobo but it say that it is a 20+4 but i have a 4 pin power entry that plugs into the another slot into the MOBO. So can i just pulg the 20 pin surrounded by and leave the 4 slots not pluged into anything and spawn it work?

I simply replaced an old cpu's motherboard beside a different(more stable) one. The 'new' one has integrated video(from what i understand) and i be wondering how i could tell how much actual push i have on my cards because the I.V. uses memory to run it and doesnt endow with a 'real' total.

Sounds close to you either hold a power supply problem or hard drive problem. If your computer is totally unconscious - then it's probably the power supply.

I want to mount my lcd monitor on a wall and I already hold the wallmount picked out. What I'm looking for is a small computer desk that can hold a tower and a mouse/keyboard. It should be as close to the wall as possible and can be in any bits and pieces. It can have any a flat surface for the keyboard or a verbs out tray. I'm looking for something that'll give me more room and be as close to the mounted monitor as possible.
Also if you know of any wallmounted shelves/desktops so adjectives of my PC hardware can be mounted that'd be great. Thank you.

Computer Freezing?
Hello, My computer is a big end sort (3.2ghz, 1gb ram). It have a Giga-Byte Ga-8i915G duo motherboard (its either G or P). Its presently summer in Australia and adjectives through the winter my computer was fine and its a particuly hot year today. My motherboard boots but it freezes either when it checks for IDE Drives or at the window booting screen. Im pretty sure it'll be something to do next to the motherboard. I have also taken the side past its sell-by date the computer now and attached a huge household fan to it and it still doesnt work.
What are my option? or is my only selection to take it into a computer technician?

If it freezes at IDE detection, then near is a problem with your hardware. Open the comp, dust everything inside next to vaccum. Check all nouns points, specially mb to hard disk, mb to other devices and reconnect.
Some special cases I notice were: 2 RAM's of different speeds can create these freezes. If you have it, remove one. it will resolve the problem. ALways use RAMs next to same speed.
If it freezes during boot time, it is an OS problem. Least troublesome method: Re-install over your previous version.
Note: The BIOS also have a setting of reset of computer if temperature goves over a clear in your mind point. It is kept to keep your MB from frying. Check to see if the max point is in limits. Do not play to increase it, you can fry your MB.
If your computer is worn-out properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.

Is in that a way of finding out how plentiful fans are surrounded by my computer.
When i play games the pc make alot of noise and partly an hour after i turn them off the computers warmth is at about 73%.
Should i be worried?
I get a new graphics card just this minute it's a nvidia 7100 gs i'm not sure if it has a built within fan or not.
Please help out!
