Cloning IDE to SATA drive?

I don't hold the SATA drive yet, but what I want to do is clone my IDE drive to SATA drive. I want to do adjectives my building on the IDE drive and then move it over to the SATA drive short any system crashes. I want to use Norton Ghost 7.5 if possible. See I hold found if I use ghost it will go and get rid of the 137GB the XP puts in in attendance. When ghosting from the old drive to the current drive Ghost allow you to change the size of the barrier and then when you boot from the contemporary drive it will see the new drive within full well I kinda want to do impossible to tell apart thing here near IDE to SATA. Build on the IDE and move to SATA to allow ghost to unfold the SATA beyond 137GB. Well how can I do this without Windows XP crashing when I boot from the SATA after cloning?

Cloning IDE to SATA drive?

Because you are shifting the hardware Windows freaks out and can;t load, but nearby is a simple solution - once you change the drives, boot to your Windows disc and run a repair on the existing windows install. This will reload your hardware and make a contribution Windows the correct hardware info so it can boot.
after cloning remember to use recovery mode to goto the command splash and do a fdisk /mbr
